We went by the grave of Billy the Kid, but didn't see it.
We went through Lubbock, Texas, and missed all tributes to Buddy Holly. If you don't know who he is, you should Google him. He's one of the founders of rock'n'roll and his songs are played to this day. They are a lot of fun to listen to.
Later we went through two wind farms. The first one, with its huge electricity generating windmills, I thought might be the largest in the country.
Then we came to another one which made the first one look like pine cone in a redwood forest. There's no way to photograph it properly. Off into the distance and haze it went. 500? 1000? 2000? I don't know. I'll try to research it later. Unforgettable.
In the last photo of the windmills, to give you some idea just how big these structures are, please note that the buildings at the base of some of the mills are one or two stories high, or more.
Whoa. Pure energy.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I'd want it in my backyard though.
