up the outer coast highway
We went to a one man play on Henry Flagler, the real founder of Standard Oil. The man portraying him is a University of Vermont graduate. Later we went on a tour of haunted St. Augustine, ending up in the original Ripley's Believe It or Not! museum, with almost all its lights turned off. Spooky place. Some unsolved murders happened there.
Yes, those are wild Florida buzzards waiting their turn on a road kill. There were also 150,000 motor-cyclists at a gathering around Daytona. Notice the stilts used to try to reduce damage from the inevitable hurri-canes.
The picture of Mike includes our Ripley's in-museum guide and in Mike's hand is a ghost detecting device. It only registered half a ghost once.

This map shows where we started our day and where we ended it, but what happened in between will remain a mystery forever. We were headed for the mountains and were somewhere around Cleveland, TN. The next thing I knew we were just off Route 27 headed north towards Knoxville. It was almost like a space/time continuum thing. At one point we had been driving for around four hours in a straight line away from Chattanooga, largely in excess of 50 mph, but were only 61 miles from the Choo Choo city.
